The ADUO system has been introduced by the FIA this year to offer a helping hand to struggling manufacturers.
The FIA has adjusted regulations for ADUO due to changes in the race calendar, with review points now scheduled after rounds 5, 11, and 18.
The system aims to provide support to engine manufacturers lagging behind the benchmark, particularly with newly developed power units introduced this year.
With the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix canceled, the calendar is reduced to 22 rounds, prompting the need for adjusted review periods.
Manufacturers more than 10% behind the benchmark will be granted 230 extra development hours to catch up.
Honda, returning to F1 and lagging behind the benchmark, is likely to benefit from ADUO, albeit Mercedes’ Toto Wolff warns against using it to influence competitive order.
