FIA confirm Canada practice trial after F1 driver feedback

The FIA has informed media, including RacingNews365, of a change for practice at the Canadian Grand Prix.

The FIA will experiment with a new color-coded system for power unit derating rear lights during practice at the Canadian Grand Prix, based on driver feedback.

After testing the new system at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, it will switch back to the standard rear lights for the rest of the Montreal weekend, with future steps to be determined after additional feedback.

The updated system aims to provide clearer distinctions between various MGU-K states: reduced power (blue), fully disabled (purple), and maximum performance (yellow).

At present, these modes are all indicated by a flashing red light sequence.

Because the Canadian Grand Prix features a condensed schedule with only one practice session, there will be limited opportunities for further testing.
