The FIA has shared a significant alteration to the Miami Grand Prix weekend format.
The FIA has announced that the free practice session at the Miami Grand Prix will be extended from one hour to 90 minutes. This decision was made to accommodate the new sprint weekend format in Florida, where FP2 and FP3 will not take place. The practice extension aims to provide teams and drivers with more time to adapt to the updated rules for the 2026 F1 season. Due to stakeholder consultations, the session will now run from 12:00 to 13:30 local time, with other track sessions also starting 30 minutes earlier. FP1 at the Miami International Autodrome is scheduled to start at 17:00 UK Time and 18:00 in most of mainland Europe to align with these adjustments.
