Ferrari’s Macarena rear wing is back on the car in Miami – and the team have reached a decision on using it.
Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur confirmed that the team’s innovative ‘Macarena’ rear wing will remain on the car despite their significant upgrades in Miami. This unique rear wing, which rotates 270 degrees to open and close, made waves during pre-season testing in Bahrain. Although it was briefly tested in the Chinese GP practice session, it was reintroduced in Miami, where even Red Bull replicated the design. Vasseur addressed the team’s commitment to the ‘Macarena’ wing, emphasizing its continued presence on the SF-26. He expressed optimism about the initial progress made with the upgrades in Miami, acknowledging the early stages of development and the need to assess performance over the course of the season. Vasseur highlighted the ongoing high rate of development across teams and anticipated a more stabilized situation after several races.
