Esteban Ocon has learned his fate after an unusual mistake was believed to have been made on the grid before the sprint in Montreal.
Esteban Ocon has not been disqualified from the Canadian Grand Prix sprint after an investigation regarding his left rear tyre’s pressure.
The misunderstanding arose when it was reported that air was let out of the tyre on the grid, but it was later clarified that it was just a bizarre misunderstanding.
After reviewing all evidence and statements from the team and officials, it was concluded that there was no breach of regulations.
The confusion stemmed from mistaking the electrical cable for the tyre blanket as an air hose, leading to the false report.
As a result, no further action was necessary, and Ocon retained his 13th place finish at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
