F1 looks to be on course to major changes to the regulations but an accusation of ‘deckchairs on the Titanic’ has been levied.

Senior F1 bosses have rejected the comparison of recent rule changes in technical regulations to rearranging deckchairs on the Titanic. Discussions were held during the April break to address weaknesses from the first three races. Major changes were introduced allowing super-clipping up to 350kw and reducing energy deployment to 7MJ. Drivers saw improvements in Miami, but fundamental flaws in regulations still exist. Audi’s Mattia Binotto and Ferrari’s Fred Vasseur emphasize that significant actions are being taken in F1 despite criticisms. Drivers’ differing vocalizations about regulations are attributed to their desire to compete at the highest level.
