The Formula 2 calendar was given a major update as two new races were slotted into the 2026 schedule.
The heads of F1 and the FIA have given their response to the major news regarding the updated Formula 2 calendar which faced a significant three-month gap after the cancellations in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. F2 managed to secure replacement rounds in Miami and Montreal, hosting rounds two and three next month. F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali commended F2 for its efforts in finding alternative events and expressed excitement for the upcoming races. Domenicali also mentioned the disappointment over the cancelled races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia but is pleased with the new locations and the collaboration with F2 and promoters in Miami and Montreal. The restart of racing, with F2 alongside F1, in the US for the first time this season, is anticipated to be a fantastic event according to Domenicali.
