Leclerc’s Diplomatic Intervention: A Mastershaft to Reassert Racing Elegance

Charles Leclerc has held his hands up to being “harsh”, but has still criticised F1’s youngest championship leader.

Charles Leclerc expressed hope for future on-track battles with Kimi Antonelli to be calmer after a heated moment during the Miami Sprint race. Leclerc admitted his criticism towards the young Italian was a spur-of-the-moment reaction but still believes there are aspects of Antonelli’s racing that need improvement. Despite passing Antonelli off the start and holding him off, Leclerc was frustrated by the aggressive wheel-to-wheel racing and even feared a potential crash. Leclerc finished on the podium, while Antonelli received a time penalty for track limit violations, affecting his final position. Reflecting on his remarks, Leclerc acknowledged being overly harsh due to the intense emotions in the heat of the race, hoping for improved relations with Antonelli in future races.
