The World Endurance Championship has postponed its season prologue and season-opener in Qatar as the crisis in the Middle East continues.
Due to the worsening Middle East crisis, the FIA World Endurance Championship has postponed its season prologue and season-opening race in Qatar.
Military actions between the United States, Israel, and Iran have led to significant disruptions in Bahrain, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai, affecting travel through the Gulf region.
The season-opening race in Qatar, limited to 10 hours, was initially scheduled for March 28th but has been postponed indefinitely due to the uncertainty of the crisis.
The first round of the season will now be the Imola 6 Hours held from April 17-19, following the ongoing monitoring of the situation by F1.
In the event that the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix are canceled in April, alternative venues such as Imola and Portimao in Portugal are being considered to host the races.
