Bottas not ‘expecting miracles’ as career-first F1 failure looms
Valtteri Bottas acknowledges that it would be challenging for him if he fails to score any points this season in Formula 1, for the first time in his career. He realizes that expecting miracles in the remaining races of the season is not realistic. Despite being expected to continue with Stake in 2025 alongside Nico Hulkenberg, Bottas is currently at the bottom of the driver standings, having only scored points six times since 2022.
He has never experienced a point-less season before and expressed concern over this possibility. Bottas also highlighted that Stake has not scored any points this season, facing the risk of being the first team since 2021 not to score a single point throughout the season. Looking ahead, Bottas anticipates a challenging season in 2026 with the arrival of Audi in F1.
He understands that resources and focus will be shifted towards the 2026 season, which may impact their competitiveness next year. Bottas remains hopeful about Audi’s potential in 2026 but acknowledges the tough competition they will face. Overall, he considers aiming for regular points as a more realistic goal for the new team in the upcoming seasons.
