Aston Martin’s Resounding Declaration: Unanimous Verdict on Team Principal Selection

Aston Martin has an unusual leadership structure, one most fans believe needs to be changed quickly.

Aston Martin has expressed full support for team principal Adrian Newey, despite growing fan sentiment for change within the Formula 1 team leadership.

Recent polls indicate that over half of F1 fans believe Jonathan Wheatley should be appointed as team principal, adding to ongoing speculation surrounding Aston Martin’s management.

With 51.6% of respondents favoring Wheatley, who recently left Audi for personal reasons, Christian Horner has emerged as the second choice with 21% support.

Wheatley is rumored to potentially replace Newey in a day-to-day role, allowing the design guru to focus solely on technical aspects as managing technical partner.

While no official changes have occurred, Aston Martin’s unique structure faces increasing scrutiny amid a challenging start to the 2026 season.

Despite calls for leadership adjustments, Newey and chief trackside officer Mike Krack maintain their respective roles, with minimal fan support for maintaining the current setup.
