Riley Herbst earned his first career NASCAR Xfinity Series race victory with a dominant performance at his home track, Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Driving the No. 98 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford, Herbst led 103 of the 201 laps, clinching a 14.9-second victory. This was the largest margin of victory in the series this season. Over 60 close friends and family members were present to witness Herbst’s triumph, and he expressed gratitude for their support. Herbst’s win came in his 139th series start, and he dedicated the victory to the city of Las Vegas. Despite not qualifying for the 2023 Playoffs, Herbst demonstrated his talent by leading six championship contenders across the finish line. The championship points leader, John Hunter Nemechek, finished in second place, further solidifying his position atop the Playoff standings. Only two of the eight Playoff drivers finished outside the top 10, with Sheldon Creed and Sammy Smith placing 15th and 17th, respectively.
