Bijoy Garg, the reigning IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge champion, is set to make his LMP2 debut in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. He will be driving for United Autosports in the Rolex 24 At Daytona next January, sharing the No. 22 ORECA 07 with Daniel Goldburg and Paul di Resta in the five Michelin Endurance Cup races. Garg, who started his racing career at the age of 13, had an impressive debut sports car season, achieving pole position, fastest lap, and a third-place finish in the opening round at Daytona. He went on to claim victories at Sebring, Lime Rock Park, Virginia International Raceway, and Road Atlanta. Garg also competed in the LMP3 class and had notable results, including a pole position at Indianapolis and a victory in the season-ending Motul Petit Le Mans. His performance caught the attention of United Autosports, and he was selected as the third driver for the team after Marino Sato was upgraded to an FIA Gold rating. Richard Dean, CEO of United Autosports, expressed their excitement in having Garg join their team, praising his impressive season and his performance during testing in their LMP2 car.
