Who’s next? Officials are “very close” to another deal after Ram joins NASCAR

The NASCAR sanctioning body is focused on attracting at least four manufacturers back to the Cup Series, a goal not achieved since 2012. Dodge is a potential addition, especially considering Ram’s return to the Truck Series, but NASCAR’s possibilities are open.

NASCAR’s executive vice president, John Probst, shared that they have made progress in attracting more OEMs to the sport, welcoming Ram back and nearing an agreement with another manufacturer. Discussions with Honda, among others, indicate a positive direction in expanding OEMs in NASCAR. The momentum around the sport and the introduction of the Next Gen car in 2022 are enhancing manufacturers’ interest.

Probst mentioned that it takes at least 18 months from a manufacturer’s agreement to their debut on the grid, emphasizing the careful preparation required. With Ram joining the Truck series in 2026, NASCAR has achieved its goal of securing a fourth manufacturer at that level.
