Unleashing Max Verstappen: The Power of Possibilities with a FIA Platinum Race License

Max Verstappen recently obtained a specific FIA license required for endurance races like the Le Mans 24 Hours. He falls under the platinum category, the highest of all FIA license levels, due to his Formula 1 superlicense. Verstappen applied for the license ahead of the F1 Spanish Grand Prix and joked about appealing for a silver license instead.

The current licensing system by the FIA aims to ensure fair competition in championships with multiple drivers, especially in endurance racing. With the FIA license, Verstappen can theoretically compete in events like the Le Mans 24 Hours, a dream of his. However, Red Bull team boss Christian Horner has shown more reservation about this idea.

Participating in the Nurburgring 24 Hours would require Verstappen to go through a separate process due to the unique nature of the event. In previous eras, it was common for drivers to compete in both F1 and sportscars, but logistical challenges may delay Verstappen’s ambitions until his F1 career concludes.
