Tragic Turn: Luca Marini’s Suzuka Incident and Ai Ogura’s Surgical Journey

“Luca Marini, a factory Honda rider, dislocated his hip in a fall while testing for the Suzuka 8 Hours endurance race in Japan.

The Italian also suffered left knee ligament damage, fractures in his sternum and left collarbone, as well as a pneumothorax from the crash.

Marini was stabilized at the hospital and will continue to be observed until he is cleared for travel, while the possibility of him participating in the upcoming MotoGP race in Aragon remains uncertain.

Due to height differences between Marini and Takumi Takahashi, Marini will not be able to compete in the 8 Hours race, with LCR Honda MotoGP rider Johann Zarco taking on the lead role in the event.

In a separate injury update, Trackhouse Aprilia provided news on rookie Ai Ogura’s right tibia fracture sustained at the British GP.

Ogura underwent successful surgery and is hopeful of returning to action at the upcoming Aragon race, focusing on recovery to regain full fitness for competition.”
