Carlos Sainz Sr is considering running for FIA president, believing it is the right time and downplaying conflict of interest concerns, as per his interview with Motorsport.com. He is currently gauging support from the motorsport community ahead of the next election in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on December 12. As the incumbent Mohammed Ben Sulayem is expected to seek another term, Sainz is contemplating a serious bid for the role, drawing on his 40+ years of experience in motorsport. He assures that despite being the father of F1 driver Carlos Sainz Jr, there will be no conflict of interest and that he would step down from any roles influencing his son’s career. Sainz aims to bring his professional, serious, and straightforward approach to the FIA presidency, highlighting the need for new and positive developments within the sport and the automotive industry.
