Aston Martin’s history with upgrades in Formula 1 has been challenging, as they often faced difficulties in finding success after introducing new parts. Despite bringing updates to their car at Imola, they finished without points, placing them seventh in the championship.

However, Aston Martin is undergoing a rejuvenation with a new campus, key hires like Adrian Newey, and a modern wind tunnel utilized at the start of the 2025 season. Despite finishing 11th and 15th at Imola, team principal Andy Cowell remains hopeful, highlighting the potential displayed during the weekend.

The team showed promise with Lance Stroll qualifying eighth and Fernando Alonso achieving his best performance since 2024. Although strategic setbacks affected their chances at Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, Cowell mentioned positives to take from the race.

Alonso also expressed confidence in the team’s new upgrades, noting a significant improvement in the car’s performance, contrasting last year’s struggles with backward progress.
