After replacing Liam Lawson at Red Bull, Yuki Tsunoda is still struggling to find pace in the RB21, a trend that has been ongoing since Daniel Ricciardo’s departure in 2019. Drivers who filled the seat after Ricciardo, except Sergio Perez, have had short-lived stints and came from Red Bull’s young driver program. Sharing his experience, Alex Albon highlighted the challenging transition from Toro Rosso to Red Bull due to the significant differences in car characteristics. The demanding nature of the Red Bull Racing car requires drivers to quickly adapt to its complexities, especially in the current era of less testing opportunities and more unforgiving car designs. Despite his extensive simulator work, Tsunoda faces a tough challenge in extracting the maximum from the RB21 and might need to persevere through the difficulties in order to succeed.
