Struggle and Resilience: Fabio Quartararo Battles Adversity in Aragon MotoGP

The Aragon track’s low-grip surface highlighted the shortcomings of Yamaha’s YZR-M1 machine, leading to a challenging day for Fabio Quartararo and the Japanese manufacturer.

Quartararo’s Yamaha machine struggled with grip issues, snapping and jumping out of corners during Friday practice, being notably slower than other bikes through the speed trap.

Despite a good setup, Quartararo faced difficulties due to unpredictable changes in the bike’s behavior when changing tires, making it hard to maintain control in corners.

Both Quartararo and team director Massimo Meregalli were disappointed with the rear grip problem affecting their performance and understood the urgency to find solutions before the race.

The Yamaha team now faces the task of analyzing data to identify the root cause of the soft tire issues and hopes to make necessary adjustments to improve performance for Quartararo before the next session.
