Aston Martin has tasked Adrian Newey to design a competitive car under the new rules. Russell, currently with Mercedes, is a surprising contender to drive for Aston. Despite being out of contract, Russell expressed confidence in being on the grid next year and emphasized his readiness to fight for a championship. He reiterated his loyalty to Mercedes and intentions to stay with the team despite the talks surrounding other drivers. Toto Wolff, Mercedes team principal, is optimistic that Russell will sign a new deal and highlighted Russell’s growth and leadership within the team.
