Arvid Lindblad, a 17-year-old Red Bull talent from Sweden and India, is set to participate in Friday practice at the British Grand Prix in Silverstone, as confirmed by Red Bull’s Helmut Marko. Lindblad recently acquired an FIA superlicence and completed a successful test with Racing Bulls in Italy.
He will be joining Racing Bulls at Silverstone next month, possibly driving the AT04 with the team, which holds its Grand Prix on 4-6 July. Lindblad impressed team advisor Marko with his mental strength and self-confidence during his preparations.
Red Bull has expanded its reserve driver lineup to include Lindblad, alongside Ayumu Iwasa, in case of any unforeseen events involving their main drivers. The team wants to ensure they are well-prepared in case Max Verstappen faces further penalty points that could lead to a race ban.
