Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur confirmed bringing an upgrade package for upcoming races and emphasized the importance of improving performance on clean race weekends and optimizing Pirelli tires. After a challenging Canadian Grand Prix weekend, questions arose about Ferrari’s strategy following a series of setbacks involving Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton.
Hamilton highlighted the need for upgrades to compete with the front-runners and expressed the desire for improvements to the current car. Despite criticisms, Ferrari remains a consistent points scorer, close behind McLaren and leading Mercedes and Red Bull in the Constructors’ Championship. Upcoming upgrades are planned to enhance the car’s performance, starting before the Silverstone round.
Vasseur acknowledged the need for better execution in race weekends and cautioned that the potential upgrades might not immediately reverse Ferrari’s fortunes. He stressed the importance of maximizing the car’s capabilities through strategic adjustments and setup optimization. The team aims to improve overall performance and strive for cleaner, more competitive weekends in the upcoming races.
