Haas celebrated its 200th grand prix at the Canadian Grand Prix by using a throwback to its 2016 debut livery. The team nearly folded during the COVID-19 pandemic but has since made a comeback, now placing sixth in the constructors’ standings. Team boss Ayao Komatsu expressed pride in the team’s progress over the past decade.
Komatsu recalled the highs and lows of the team’s journey, from their impressive debut in Melbourne to struggling to fix the car in 2019. Haas’s current drivers, Esteban Ocon and rookie Oliver Bearman, have shown promise despite occasional inconsistencies. Ocon has been particularly impressive after his departure from Alpine.
The team’s performances remain inconsistent, with strong showings in China and Bahrain balanced by tougher weekends at other races. Haas continues to face challenges in the ultra-competitive midfield, but its drivers have managed to capitalize on opportunities.
