During Lap 67 of the NASCAR Cup race in Michigan, Alex Bowman of Hendrick Motorsports collided with Cole Custer, causing him to slam into the outside wall at 150mph, ending his race. Bowman, who labeled it as one of the biggest hits of his career, has a history of injuries, including a concussion in 2022 and a back injury in 2023. Despite these setbacks, Bowman has been cleared to race in Mexico City this weekend. Hendrick Motorsports has Anthony Alfredo on standby for Bowman at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez as a precaution. Currently ranked 13th in the championship standings, Bowman is aiming to regain momentum after a string of poor finishes in recent races.
