Repave project completed at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course
Green Savoree Racing Promotions confirmed on Tuesday that the natural-terrain road course at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course has been repaired and repaved. The project began in October 2022, with Kokosing Construction Company, Inc. leading the construction efforts. The track surface was milled and a new asphalt layer was paved, completing the repaving process. Approximately 100 people worked a total of 5,000 hours, with 15 trucks removing 6,000 tons of old track material and 30 trucks delivering 6,000 tons of new asphalt. The project covered 11,550 feet of surface paving and included repairs in various areas of the track. The track’s 2.258-mile layout was repaved with careful attention to avoid a centerline joint.
