The Month of May at Indianapolis Motor Speedway is truly unique, particularly during the eventful 2025 edition of the Indianapolis 500.
The 109th running of the race was marked by a cool Indiana day with overcast skies and occasional rain, causing chaos and attrition before the green flag flew.
Despite the challenges, a new champion emerged in Alex Palou, who secured his first Indianapolis 500 victory, showcasing his skills on ovals and solidifying his lead in the championship standings.
While Palou celebrated his success, Marcus Ericsson and others fell short, missing out on victory and questioning what could have been with a runner-up finish.
The race featured numerous lead changes, providing an exciting and unexpected outcome that contrasted with the more procedural races of the season up to that point.
Unfortunately, pit road claimed victims like Rossi, Veekay, and Shwartzman, ending their days prematurely and highlighting the risks of racing at the Brickyard.
