The 2025 World Endurance Championship saw Ferrari clinch its fourth consecutive victory, including a third win in a row at Le Mans, showcasing their dominant performance with the 499Ps. Despite Porsche grabbing second place and denying Ferrari a full podium lock-out, the Italian team benefited from a mid-race safety car period that helped them overcome errors and secure another Le Mans triumph. With a strong lead in both the drivers’ and manufacturers’ standings in the WEC, Ferrari seems poised to claim the titles with their crews accumulating impressive points.
On the other hand, Toyota faced disappointment at the Le Mans 24 Hours, experiencing a lack of competitiveness attributed to the Balance of Performance regulations. Despite an early lead by the #8 car, various issues plagued the team, leading to their worst Le Mans performance since 2017, highlighting a challenging race for the Japanese manufacturer. Meanwhile, former team-mates Robert Kubica, Ye Yifei, and Louis Deletraz found redemption at Le Mans 2025, with Kubica and Ye winning overall in the #83 Ferrari, and Deletraz securing LMP2 Pro-Am honors, marking a memorable victory for the trio.
In contrast, Peugeot suffered setbacks due to Balance of Performance adjustments, resulting in a low qualifying position and slower pace during the race, ultimately positioning them as one of the main losers of the event. The French manufacturer faced challenges with its 9X8 model struggling to match the speed of rivals, leading to a disappointing performance at Le Mans.
