Nurburgring 24 Hours: BMW wins after penalty for Porsche

Rowe BMW emerged as the victors of the Nurburgring 24 Hours race after a penalty was imposed on the leading Manthey EMA Porsche. Victory was claimed by the team consisting of Raffaele Marciello, Kelvin van der Linde, Jesse Krohn, and Augusto Farfus as a result of the penalty. The race had been tightly contested between #911 Porsche, driven by Kevin Estre, Ayhancan Guven, and Thomas Preining, and the Rowe BMW, with the former initially crossing the finish line first.

However, a post-race penalty of 100 seconds was given to Estre for a collision, ultimately awarding victory to the #98 BMW. Despite a protest from Manthey EMA Porsche, the penalty stood, solidifying the outcome. This victory marked the second win at Nurburgring for the Rowe team, with Marciello and Krohn securing their first wins at the event.

Additionally, Farfus achieved his second victory, with van der Linde attaining his third, having previously triumphed with Audi in 2017 and 2022. The race saw various challenges and incidents, ultimately culminating in a hard-fought and controversial victory for Rowe BMW.
