McLaren enjoys being "heavily challenged" by vocal Norris on F1 team radio
Lando Norris caused controversy during the Dutch Grand Prix when he angrily criticized his team for leaving him on slick tires in the rain, using strong language towards his race engineer. Norris later admitted that he didn’t mean any offense and was surprised by how aggressive he sounded on the radio. McLaren’s team principal, Andrea Stella, supports Norris’s vocal communication and prefers being challenged by their drivers rather than having passive ones. Stella appreciated that Norris addressed the issue with his engineers after the race. While Norris may make adjustments to his tone in the future, McLaren understands how to handle his comments and considers the matter closed.
