Charles Leclerc will miss the second practice at the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix due to chassis damage resulting from his FP1 crash. After leading opening practice, he locked up his tires, understeered into the grass, and had a violent collision with the wall, finishing the session in 10th. Ferrari’s Team Principal Fred Vasseur confirmed that a chassis replacement and other checks prevent Leclerc from participating in the second practice. Leclerc will not be part of Friday’s running, and Ferrari confirmed the need for a new chassis for Saturday’s session. Despite apologizing for the error, Leclerc was not the only driver facing challenges with low-grip conditions, as incidents also involved Hamilton, Russell, and Norris. Max Verstappen topped FP1 with a small lead over Albon and Sainz.
