Leclerc Shines in Monaco GP Practice, Outpaces Verstappen amidst Traffic Chaos

In the first free practice at the Monaco Grand Prix, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc set the pace with a time of 1m11.964s, holding off a challenge from Max Verstappen. Despite a red flag due to a collision between Leclerc and Lance Stroll, the session continued with McLaren’s Lando Norris and Williams also showing good form.

Stroll’s Aston Martin sustained rear suspension damage, ending his session, while both drivers were summoned to explain the incident to the stewards. Leclerc, facing balance issues, still managed to lead the timesheet ahead of Norris and Piastri.

Verstappen improved to second place late in the session, with Hamilton, Albon, Piastri, and Russell following behind in the standings. The session included incidents such as Norris and Sainz running off track, and Hamilton narrowly avoiding a crash due to traffic.

The top 10 was rounded out by Gasly, Hamilton, and Alonso, with the session providing a glimpse of the competitive nature of the Monaco GP weekend. Overall, the practice session showcased Leclerc’s strong performance and the potential for an exciting race ahead.
