Latvala: Katsuta realising WRC potential after Rally Japan stage wins
Takamoto Katsuta has shown impressive speed at his home event, winning eight of the 16 stages so far. Unfortunately, he damaged his car’s radiator in a collision with trees on Friday, but he quickly bounced back, winning three stages that day and five on Saturday. His strong performance has moved him up from ninth to sixth overall. Katsuta’s teammate, Jari-Matti Latvala, believes he has the potential to fight for podiums in future rallies if he can maintain his current level of performance. Katsuta himself is happy with the car’s performance and feels comfortable pushing without taking unnecessary risks. His teammate, Kalle Rovanpera, is also impressed and believes Katsuta is showing his true capabilities this weekend.
