How Macau’s long awaited return is shaping up to thrill
The FIA Formula 3 and GT World Cups are making their long-awaited return to the Macau Grand Prix after a four-year hiatus. The event, which was scaled down during the COVID-19 pandemic, is now back to its former glory with an impressive lineup of international talent in both F3 and GT categories. The F3 race is expected to be wide open, as most of the young drivers have never competed on the streets of Macau before due to the pandemic. On the other hand, the GT race features experienced veterans who are eager to compete individually for glory. Among them is Daniel Juncadella, a former Macau GP winner, who is excited to be back at the legendary Guia Circuit. Juncadella, who now races for Mercedes, still has a soft spot for F3 cars, but will be competing in the GT race this year. The entry list also includes other notable names like Richard Verschoor, the 2019 F3 winner, and two-time winner Dan Ticktum, who will be aiming to make history with a third win.
