During qualifying, McLaren surprised by locking the front row, showcasing the minimal impact of the new wings on performance. Hamilton expressed disappointment in the costly development, stating that the balance change was insignificant, and teams had to adapt without significant gains. Charles Leclerc echoed the sentiment, noting a slight difference at high speeds but overall adjustments in car set-up handling the changes effectively.
