The 36-race NASCAR Cup schedule for last year was officially announced on August 29th. Series officials aim to reveal this year’s schedule sooner, but various elements are still in motion. Reports indicate NASCAR is close to a deal for a San Diego street race, and rumors suggest a potential return to Chicagoland Speedway. Homestead-Miami Speedway will host the season finale in 2026, while the Daytona 500 is set for February 15th, kicking off the season.
Additionally, key events like the All-Star Race in North Wilkesboro and ‘The Clash’ at Bowman Gray will maintain their positions. Discussions about a Brazil preseason exhibition stalled, yet NASCAR commissioner Steve Phelps hopes to host an event in the country eventually. Potential changes include Chicagoland’s return, possibly replacing the Chicago Street Course, and introducing a San Diego street race. The series is also exploring a street course in Philadelphia, along with the uncertainty surrounding Mexico City’s return for 2026. Adjustments to the playoff format could impact the final ten races as NASCAR finalizes its extensive schedule.
