Friday favourite: The video game icon that lived up to expectations

“I grew up in the PlayStation era and still play Gran Turismo. The Nissan Skyline was always my dream car and remains my favorite among those I’ve driven. Ric Wood’s recreation of Kazuyoshi Hoshino’s 1990 All-Japan Touring Car title-winning Skyline GT-R tops them all. It’s as close to the original as you can get and I absolutely love it. I first drove it at Oulton Park in 2019 and was instantly hooked. We had success at the Goodwood SpeedWeek in 2020 and I’ve driven various versions of the Skyline at events like the Festival of Speed. It’s been a privilege to be involved with this project and it’s one of my favorite racing cars. The Chevron B26 and Ralt RT3 F3 cars are also among my favorites. They offer a pure driving experience and I consider it an honor to drive them.”
