FIA presidential hopeful Tim Mayer came out swinging to launch his campaign

At Whittlebury Hall, Tim Mayer launched his campaign for the presidency at the FIA with a presentation in the Hockenheim Room, showcasing his ‘FIA Forward’ branding and expressing his grassroots campaign strategy.

Mayer emphasized the need for personal connections and grassroots campaigning, striking a balance between traditional campaign tactics and a modern, dynamic approach.

Engaging with motorsport journalists, Mayer outlined his vision for change within the FIA, presenting a detailed plan while embracing the atmosphere of a US presidential primary event.

The campaign, in motion for six months, is expected to cost between $4-6 million, with backers seeking reform and ready to support Mayer’s bid for the top FIA position.

Having openly criticized the incumbent, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, Mayer focused on the need for transparency and inclusivity within the organization, highlighting his intention to bring a fresh perspective to the role of FIA President.
