End of an Era: Steve Newmark Departs RFK Racing After Remarkable 15-Year Legacy

Steve Newmark has played a key role at RFK Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series since 2010, guiding the team through downsizing and later building back up with Brad Keselowski. The team currently fields three full-time cars with Keselowski (#6), Buescher (#17), and Preece (#60).

However, Newmark recently announced his departure from RFK Racing this summer to join UNC’s athletic department. RFK Racing expressed gratitude for his leadership and contributions over the past 15 years and wished him success at UNC.

Newmark shared his appreciation for his time at RFK Racing and excitement for the new chapter at UNC. He looks forward to continuing his career in the athletic sector and contributing to the success of Tar Heel Nation across all sports.
