Chase Elliott unexpectedly joined the NASCAR Xfinity Series race this weekend after a surprise announcement from Hendrick Motorsports. He secured pole position at Pocono, leading 38 laps and maintaining a strong position throughout the race, though facing challenges. During a critical restart, reigning champ Allgaier’s move caused a near-collision, dropping both drivers back in the top ten. Elliott managed to recover to fourth, while Allgaier finished tenth after apologizing for the incident. Despite the setback, Elliott highlighted the speed of his Chevy and appreciated the opportunity to race, already looking forward to future opportunities with HMS and Rick Hendrick. In the upcoming Cup race, Elliott, the top Hendrick qualifier, faces a tough starting position in what promises to be an intense competition.
