Brad Pitt expressed his desire to improve on his Formula 1 debut by reaching the 200mph target he narrowly missed while testing Lando Norris’ 2023 McLaren at the Circuit of the Americas.
As an actor in F1: The Movie, Pitt had the opportunity to drive a full-fledged F1 car for the first time, although the vehicles he and his co-star Damson Idris drove were based on F2 models.
During his time on the Austin track, Pitt reached a speed of 197mph, falling three miles per hour short of his goal, but he was left awestruck by the feeling of driving an F1 car, describing it as an “absolute high.”
Pitt credited Lando Norris and McLaren CEO Zak Brown for the unforgettable experience and expressed his eagerness to return to the track to beat his previous time and further explore the exhilarating world of Formula 1.
In F1: The Movie, which has garnered positive reviews, Pitt and Idris had the chance to interact with real F1 drivers like Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, but it was Pitt’s firsthand experience on the track that truly left a lasting impact on him.
The Hollywood star emphasized the massive step up in speed, power, and handling between F2 and F1 cars and vowed to return for another chance to push the limits and beat his personal best.
