Following a slow start in the 2024 Formula 1 season, Williams and Sauber were the only teams yet to score points, but Alex Albon changed that with a ninth-place finish in Monaco. Williams struggled with the heavy FW46, but Albon’s performance improved with the team’s upgraded 2025 package.
Despite being outqualified by teammate Carlos Sainz, Albon has consistently scored points in most races, showcasing impressive race pace and skill in tire management. Albon expressed slight disappointment with his fifth-place finish in Imola, believing he could have challenged for a higher position if race situations had been different.
As Williams continues to improve its performance in the midfield, Albon’s racing capabilities have become more evident, earning him recognition for his skills in strategic driving. While the team may lack top-end pace, Albon’s strong race performances have put Williams in a competitive position, even without significant development throughout the year.
