During the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, Kalex rider Senna Agius secured his first Moto2 race victory, with Diogo Moreira finishing second and David Alonso taking third place on the podium. Agius impressed by moving up from fifth position and overtaking his rivals in a thrilling final lap to clinch the win. Reflecting on his accomplishment, Agius exclaimed, “I honestly can’t believe it,” emphasizing the significance of now being a grand prix winner. He expressed gratitude for the support and mentioned his family, regretting their absence at the celebration.
Agius celebrated the emotional victory by performing a shoey on the podium and throwing his boot into the crowd. On the other hand, Alonso expressed his happiness at achieving his first Moto2 podium, overcoming challenging races earlier in the season. Despite initial doubts, the young rider credited his team for believing in him and acknowledged the sentimental value of performing well at Silverstone. Alonso also revealed struggling with health issues before the race and appreciated the medical staff for assisting him in preparing for the event.
