Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff believes that both its drivers missing out on a podium finish at the Las Vegas
Lewis Hamilton started 10th but lost positions due to contact with Carlos Sainz at the start. He then sustained a puncture from contact with Oscar Piastri and finished in 7th place. George Russell also received a penalty for contact with Max Verstappen and finished 8th. Toto Wolff, the team principal, believes Mercedes had the pace for a podium, but incidents hindered their progress. Hamilton expressed disappointment at the puncture and acknowledged it was difficult to extract the car’s performance. Ferrari scored more points than Mercedes in Las Vegas, reducing the gap in the Constructors’ Championship to only four points. However, Wolff is not overly concerned about finishing second or third. The focus now is on the season finale in Abu Dhabi.
