Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff hopes Formula 1 can find a way to “pay back” the fans who missed out
F1’s return to Vegas started off on a difficult note as the first practice was cancelled after only eight minutes due to damage caused by a loose water valve cover. The second session was delayed for two-and-a-half hours as checks were conducted around the circuit. FP2 eventually started without spectators due to working hour regulations for safety officials. Wolff acknowledges the challenges faced and suggests the need for better communication and compensation for affected fans. Despite the difficulties, Wolff believes the race itself was spectacular, with thrilling battles and a great audience, ultimately ticking all the boxes for the inaugural Las Vegas race.
