McLaren has announced further organisational changes to its Formula 1 technical ranks, with David Sanchez departing due to a “misalignment”
McLaren’s recent restructuring saw key changes in their technical department, with the departure of David Sanchez as Technical Director of Car Concept and Performance. This move led to Rob Marshall being appointed as Chief Designer while Neil Houdley transitioned to the role of Technical Director for Engineering. Peter Prodromou continued leading the aerodynamics section. Andrea Stella, the Team Principal, temporarily took on the Technical Director – Performance role until a suitable replacement is found. The decision for Sanchez to leave was mutual, driven by a lack of alignment in expectations between him and the team. Despite the short tenure, both parties valued Sanchez’s contributions and wished him success in his future pursuits within Formula 1.
