Alpine driver Esteban Ocon mourned a missed chance during qualifying for Formula 1’s Miami Grand Prix as he encountered engine
Despite advancing to Q2 and finishing close to breaking into the top-10 shootout in 12th place, Ocon was dissatisfied, feeling that a Q3 appearance was within reach. He attributed his lack of speed on the straights to an issue with his power unit and regretted making incorrect changes to his car’s setup before the session. Ocon described it as Alpine’s “least maximised session” of the current term due to these setbacks. Despite the team having two cars in Q2, Ocon believed more was achievable in that session. He acknowledged the engine deficit and handling issues that contributed to missing out on a Q3 spot. Looking towards the race, Ocon expressed optimism that the car changes made would lead to a competitive race pace and expressed hope for scoring points.
