Drivers pushed the limit during the knockout sessions, with dust flying from their Firestone tires as they fought to stay on the asphalt. Will Power advanced to the Firestone Fast Six, appearing poised for the pole position. However, he backed off on his second push lap, a decision that proved costly as his teammate, Scott McLaughlin, seized pole position on his final lap. McLaughlin’s time of 1:05.9490 edged out Power’s by 0.097 seconds, marking his sixth IndyCar career pole. Christian Lundgaard, Pato O’Ward, and Felix Rosenqvist rounded out the top five in qualifying. Despite frustrations from some drivers, including Graham Rahal and Josef Newgarden, the stage is set for an exciting 90-lap race on Sunday at 12:30 pm.
