Komatsu has been promoted to Team Principal for 2024 as Haas decided not to renew Guenther Steiner’s contract. Haas has also parted ways with Technical Director Simone Resta after a disappointing season. Haas is in the process of hiring a Chief Operating Officer based in Europe to help lighten the off-track responsibilities for Komatsu. Despite concerns about Haas’ commitment to Formula 1, Komatsu believes that team owner Gene Haas is serious and motivated to improve the team’s performance. Komatsu is currently evaluating the team’s various departments and believes that with the talented people they have, they can achieve significant improvement.
