Dani Sordo and Adrien Fourmaux both crashed out of FORUM8 Rally Japan on the first stage of Friday morning after
The crews in Isegami’s Tunnel 1 faced treacherous conditions with heavy rainfall and slippery leaves, making the road feel like an ice rink. Takamoto Katsuta, who had been driving at a fast pace, was the first to lose control at a right-hand bend, spinning his Toyota GR Yaris and causing radiator damage. He managed to complete the stage in EV mode. Unfortunately, Dani Sordo from Spain suffered a worse fate when he slid down an embankment in his Hyundai i20 N at the same location, brushing against several trees. Adrien Fourmaux, a young driver from M-Sport Ford Puma, also went off the road at the same spot. Thankfully, no one was harmed, but the stage had to be red-flagged.
